Conspiracy?
Jack was his usual charming, laughing, giggling, self today, although he seems to now have a pattern of a poop just as Daddy pulls out of the driveway in the morning....hmmm... I sense conspiracy here. Every week he is more vigorous and active! We wrestled (a lot!), threw balls, pulled every sock out of my sock drawer and THREW them around the room. He really throws hard too. Took him with me to the fabric store where I finally picked up the fabric for the bridesmaids dresses. He loved fondling all the furry, silky and fuzzy fabrics as we went down the aisles. It's too funny remembering how at his age they have eight arms and each one is about 5 feet long. He listened to Gillian Welch on the way home and sacked out, didn't even stir moving from the car to his bed. I'm seeing more temper these days too, although it doesn't last long at all. He threw a hissy fit when I took him out of the bath, he was enjoying playing in the water too much. [Joan]

Running through the Water
We took Kiva to the pool early this morning with a tiny blow up swim ring. She loved it and swam the length of the big pool eight times (I'm not kidding!). Of course Grammie AND Grandpa were next to her the whole time and we had races. Amazingly she won all of them. I have ordered a toddler swim belt like mine so it will be more secure than the blow up ring. I am so anal about water safety, I can't stand it unless I am right next to her the whole time she is in the pool. Even when Ken is next to her I have to be nearby AND watching. It will be tough when she gets bigger and wants to strike out on her own. I wish you could have seen her "running" through the water. What energy. [Joan]
Exploring Everywhere
Jack is so physical these days. He's a big guy and loves to move around. He does love wrestling. When he was doing the pool thing I was lying on the blanket next to him. Every once in a while he would crawl out and wrestle on me for a while. Now I'm thinking he was using me as a towel! He is pulling up and exploring everywhere. Such fun to play with. [Joan]

Prom Date
What a little charmer Jack is...news to you right? He loves that necklace that I wear and desperately wants to chew on it. He was all over me this morning trying to get at it....I felt like I was on a prom date. :-) His newest fad...throw things....and from the high chair...drop things...look at Grammie expectantly....yes it gets picked up it is great fun. Puttering Around
Grandpa is very taken with this boy. Too funny how he was afraid to really handle Kiva at this age, but Jack he just scoops up and takes with him out into the yard while he is puttering around. Kiva was so much smaller and sicker, so maybe that's it. [Joan]

Boy Parts
Jack is his usual sweet sunny self today. Did Jim tell you Jack got his own personal invitation to join the weavers group? The weavers group meets one thursday per month, and I have declined of course since I have Jack those days. Not an issue, I'll choose my darling boy over a guild meeting anytime, and I already go to the main guild meeting and the spinners group meeting. Well, last night the leader of the weavers group called me and told me they would LOVE to have Jack join the group with me. Her words "he is such a sweet baby". Well, we know that already. Today they had a meeting, but it was in Colfax so I told them it was too far. But next month it will be in Rocklin, so Jack and I will be going. Me to polish my weaving skills, Jack to enjoy "grannie heaven" again.
Jack is so cute, he crawls over next to me, turns around til he is comfortable, leans back against my leg as a back rest, and plays with his toys for a long time. He was so absorbed I looked over to see what he was doing. He was bent way over inspecting his boy parts, first gently poking with his thumb, then with his favorite plastic measuring cup, then the thumb, then the cup handle. He has to lean way over to see over the belly :-)
His attention span is amazing. He must have spent 15 minutes putting a little toy car into my hand, watching me make it disappear by closing my hand, prying my fingers open, taking the car back and laughing. We did this over and over, it was so funny. He is also throwing things, and putting objects inside another one and then taking them out. He is definitely a genius. Although Jack did spend a lot of time today bonking himself on the head with his plastic measuring cup. I wish I could say he didn't get that from Jim's side of his family, but truth is he probably does. [Joan]

Cheating?
Glad Kiva was ok with Jack coming here with out her. I told Ken I felt like I was "cheating" on her. Tell her I am soooo proud of her. [Joan]
Chuckling
Kiva did pretty well that Jack was going to your place this morning. She did say once I want to go too! But she got over it pretty fast knowing she was going tomorrow. Is he not the cutest thing ever crawling?? This morning he was chuckling all the way down the hall.... [Vanessa]
